About Us
Meet Your Doula, Becca
Becoming a mother nearly 13 years ago changed me in ways I never could have anticipated. My daughter is the light of my life, and my journey into motherhood has shaped not only who I am, but also the way I care for and support other mothers.
When my daughter was born, I experienced postpartum anxiety and depression. Then, when she was just two years old, I faced a thyroid cancer diagnosis. These experiences brought me through some incredibly vulnerable seasons of motherhood and taught me how important it is to have compassionate support, a safe space to be honest, and someone who reminds you that you don't have to navigate it all alone.
Those experiences ultimately led me to birth and postpartum work. I have a deep desire to support women as they find their way through the enormous transition into motherhood—not only caring for their babies, but remembering to care for themselves, too. I believe postpartum healing deserves just as much attention as birth preparation.
My professional life has always centered around children and families. I hold a degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education and spent more than 15 years as a nanny, with much of that time caring for infants and toddlers. I now also substitute teach children from birth through age five at Portland Jewish Academy when I can. Working with young children has given me a deep appreciation for the many different ways families grow, connect, and find their rhythm together.
I completed my Birth and Postpartum Doula training through Mothertree, building on my years of experience with children and my own personal journey through motherhood.
As a doula, I bring a calm, nurturing, and nonjudgmental presence. I am here to listen, to offer reassurance and practical support, to help you feel informed and confident in your choices, and to hold space for whatever your experience may bring.
There is no one “right” way to give birth or become a mother. Your story is your own, and it deserves to be honored.
It would be a privilege to walk alongside you through birth, those tender early days, and the beautiful, messy, transformative journey of becoming a mother.
Because while your baby is being born, a mother is being born, too—and her healing matters.

Becca worked with us for nearly 12 months caring for our son starting when he was just 3 months old. She is knowledgeable, caring, and very thoughtful about the time she spends with children while parents are working. A few things we especially appreciated about Becca were the daily logs she kept of our son’s activities — bottles, naps, diapers, etc. — so we could easily look back and understand how his day went. She was also very intentional about staying off her phone while caring for our son. Unlike some caregivers who are frequently checking social media or texting, Becca was truly present and dedicated to spending quality time with him. She has a warm, calm demeanor and is excellent at communicating. She is professional, educated, reliable, and someone we trusted completely with our son’s care.
– Lauren Downey.
Rebecca as a shimmering and dedicated caregiver. Her sweet personality brings ease and a sense of wellbeing to her clients. Noting puts and parents anxiety at rest more than knowing their child is receiving the best and most mindful care. Rebecca has years experience with a wide array of families, including premature infants and at risk moms. She is truly an advocate and a mothers Valkyrie (great champion)
